How I See Love | From A Wedding Photographer….

As a single girl in the wedding industry I am often times swooning over the love between my clients. I am genuinely so unbelievably happy for them. So as I photograph a wedding day I find little bits and pieces that make my heart swell with happiness…

The way during cocktail hour or before dinner how a groom gently lays his hand on the small of his brides back. Maintaining that point of contact to remind everyone they are connected.. It’s in that sweet touch that you can see the pride and excitement in his eyes.

During the recessional when a bride and groom look at each other. Hand in hand & their eyes are filled with so much love and excitement.

In that moment when a momma zips her daughter up in a dress, puts her hands on her shoulders, and takes it all in. Her eyes fill up with tears and you can see love for her baby girl. Gah, and now I’m tearing up.

The obviously sweet, sweet moments before a dad walks his girl down the isle. Their arms gently linking up and pride & love outpours from him. The first man she ever loved.

When a bride reads a love letter from her groom that morning. A handkerchief held to her lips and she takes in every lovely word and soaks up these final moments. The nerves settle in her stomach as she’s reminded exactly why she’s head over heels for her groom.

The exchange between parents. No matter the family situation. There is a look of bittersweet love. Their child is officially grown but yet the love radiates around them.

The way a best man/maid of honor looks at the bride & groom. Giving their well wishes and usually telling a good story along the way. The smile stretches all the way to their eyes in those moments.

I see love all day long on a wedding day but my favorite bits of love are the in-between moments. The moments that no one else really might notice because they aren’t around weddings all that often. I love these little moments and as I’m shooting there is a lot of times that I am choking back tears for the couple. Shooting through blurry eyes is never an easy task but the happiness my heart feels makes it so worth it.
