There were a couple of weddings that had me extra excited this season. Not because of the venues or because of the florals not even the impeccable taste said bride had.. But because of who I was photographing. I’ve said it once, & I’ll say it again. Photographing the weddings of people you know is so unbelievable special. It gets me feeling all warm & fuzzy. Nikki & I were in high school together. I photographed her older sisters wedding a couple of season ago. When Nikki & Jordan announced they were engaged I had my fingers crossed for an email. It wasn’t long after I got to do a happy dance in my chair.

I walked into The Wagner House in Freeport, Illinois. I fell in love with the venue walking up the stairs. Rustic walls, iron wire (definitely not the correct design term) railings, & what appeared to be original oak floors (again, totally guessing here). This venue is STUNNING. With corn stalk tied around the industrial wood beams, this place was an autumn heaven. The bittersweet rain failing made this venue extra romantic and cozy..
