I have to say, I’ve photographed more family sessions the past couple of months then I have in YEARS & honestly, I may be falling in love with them more & more. When one of Mel’s closest friends reached out wanting to gift a session as a baby shower gift, I was SO dang excited. You see, I photographed Thomas & Melissa’s wedding back in 2015 and to this day, it’s still one of my all-time favorite weddings.

We got together this past weekend at Blackwell Forest Preserve down in Warrenville, Illinois. A little bit of a trek from Madison but 110% worth it. The high grass, perfectly placed hill for optimal glow, the best filtered light through the trees. It was an evening that I walked away from just KNOWING I created some of my all-time favorite portraits. As I loaded the card into my computer, my hunch was right.
