Wedding Planner & Guide Magazine | An In Print Feature

The first time I was published digitally was in 2015. In those early years it was something that I dreamed about. I believed that having a “as featured in” section on my site with oodles of buttons would finally make me feel like I made it. That those little badges of publication would make me finally believe that I was truly a photographer. After a handful of online submissions I quickly realized that not one thing was going to make me feel like a successful business owner. While online publications still makes me squeal with excitement, my definition of success lies in something greater than badges on a site.

The funny thing about owning a business (& something that I wrote about years and years ago) was that I believe once you hit those big milestones. The things that you long and covet for. Your definition of success gets pushed a little bit further from you. Pushing you to grow within yourself and your work. Those dreams adjusting like the internals of a clock as you reach things that you once thought were never attainable.

Having my work in print was exactly that. A dream that I thought would never happen. Why? Fear I guess. So I was bursting with excitement when Tara from the Overture Center reached out wanting to submit Libby & Scott’s work for print. Interlaced within my excitement was fear. There was NO way Wedding Planner & Guide was going to pick up my work for print. None. That little voice shouting from the small dark scary part of my brain. But I pushed that rude little lady aside and told Tara to run with it.

Today I’m so damn (sorry. It’s necessary here) excited to be sharing this with you today!

MY WORK IS IN PRINT. HOLY MACARONI. HAPPY DANCE COMMENCE.

At first they picked it up for a digital feature which left me excited enough as is but then I heard they wanted to feature it in their yearly magazine under the “real wedding section”. When the digital version came out, I about cried. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL & if you see one of these bad boys laying around in Madison be sure to flip to page 13!

Hats off to you Libby & Scott. You threw one spectacular wedding day. It’s all because of you that I’m getting to celebrate this achievement. Thank you for allowing me to document this oh so very special day in your lives.
