Fake Calligraphy | Business Post

It started a couple of months ago. I was drooling over script fonts with holiday phrases, pretty chalk board lettering that was curly and delicate, and most importantly I had the desire to learn. I want to learn odd tasks.. It’s my fight for individuality and to exercise the creative brain that is becoming more and more apparent with each passing day.

I jumped into it with video tutorial and a few blog posts that taught me how to “fake it” without a calligraphy pen and left handed nightmare ink that smudges. So with a ruler, pencil, and a fine tip permanent marker I got to work. It started with me mimicking scripts that I found on Pinterest to get the feel of it in my hand and then I dabbled in creating my own.

I went to Michael’s the other day and picked up a heavy duty acrylic paint note pad (so the ink wouldn’t bleed through) and a few specialty pens per a blogger recommendation and I’ve been practicing, practicing, practicing & it’s been FUN!

I want to add different scripts to my arsenal but for now it’s curly, girly, and delicate! I’m thinking of a few ways to tie it in with the brand so I’m super excited for that!

Happy Monday! Wishes!
