Leading up to Dustin & Riley’s day the weather wasn’t looking so great. I’m talking 98% chance of rain with heavy cloud cover. So much to my BIG surprise (& honestly, I’m sure everyone surprise) when the weather forecast the morning of had dropped it down to 14% which honestly… Feels like the percentage everyday during the summer. It honestly turned out better than I had even hoped. It was the kind of day that when you stood outside you were reminded how AWESOME Wisconsin summers can be. Little humidity + a gentle breeze and the sun only occasionally popping out. It was PERFECT.
Dustin & Riley deserved it. These two are high school sweethearts and it was such a honor to witness their love first hand + meet those most important to them. The day sprinkled with sentimental moments and belly laughter. It was the kind of day where I really didn’t want to leave. The energy surrounding them was palpable and it’s the kind of energy that sucks you in and fills you with joy + love.
It was my first time at The Ivy House in Milwaukee and honestly hoping it isn’t the last. The location is stunning, the staff is amazing, and it’s a little slice of unique and modern urban with a classic feel. I felt SO unbelievably lucky to be there.
