We photographed their engagement session on Kelly’s family property in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin. If you’ve been here for any length of time you know how much I LOVE working on private properties. The unique setting + land that is meaningful in some way just makes the session even better.

When I was editing their session, my husband Philip came in and said, “Wow! Those two just look SO in love” and truth be told, he isn’t wrong. From the moment I stepped out of my car, Kelly & Aaron had this warmth to them. I obviously work with couples on a regular basis & while I feel the love quite frequently, I also can recognize when a couple has something really special. These two share something special.

Our time together started off with their adorable pup, Hank. I’m convinced that Hank does modeling when his humans aren’t home. Hank was a saint and easily the most well behaved pup I’ve had the pleasure of photographing.

As I sit here and write this, I have now photographed 3 of my 2023 couples and each one of them holds that same warmth that Kelly & Aaron exude. They are personable, funny, charismatic, and honestly made me feel like I was hanging out with old friends.

Kelly & Aaron are getting married at The Carriage House in Oconomowoc this coming January. I am SO unbelievably excited to shoot in this space and know it’ll be a stunning day. This venue has been on my “dream venue list” for a long time now so I’m counting down the days!
